Summary of "The Double Edge of Globalization"

According to Chandra(2007), many countries are benefiting greatly from globalization, mainly international trades. Countries enjoy boost in economy and high pace of development. However, we cannot deny the fact that globalization has caused quite a number of environmental problems such as world wide deforestation, spreading air, land and water pollution and most importantly, global warming. These problems have brought attention to the nations with the help of globalization, technology on communication. Hence nations have made some actions by working together to relieve the worsening environmental problems.

  1. Hi, Desheng. Your summary conveys most main ideas of the post. But I find some sentences ambiguous.
    1)In the first sentence, I know "mainly international trades" refers to the way contries are benefiting from globalization. But you might change the sentence structure to make it more straigntforward.
    2)"world wide"-> worldwide,adj.
    3)"These problems have brought attention to the nations "-> these problems have gained attention from the nations.

  3. Hi!

    Some suggestions:

    -A comma after hence-> Hence, nations...
    -Maybe you can add on to your summary how some key nations are unwilling or incapable in empowering the UN and in protecting the environment.

    Have a great e-learning week! :)
